Convention 2012

The beginning of this year has already flown by!  I can’t believe it.  I was promoted to an Events Manager in January, went on a trip for work to Vegas in February and then the next month or so were a whirlwind getting ready for our Convention in Philadelphia the middle of April.

For those who don’t know I work for a direct selling company called 4Life.  I started working there a week after I graduated high school and have worked my way up.  I work with great people and love my job.  Every 18 months 4Life holds a convention where distributors from around the world come to learn how to build their business.  Planning for convention is crazy.  We start planning more than a year in advance and the last couple months before the event happens we live, breathe, and sleep convention.

This year convention was even bigger and better than the year before.

We had parties   -

A charity basketball game where our executives played against our top distributors –

For those who love Dancing with the Stars, JR Martinez spoke –

There were lots of people, lots of hard work and lots of fun.

On to Miami for 2013 Convention.  Let the planning begin!

Jesus wants me for a Sunbeam!

Trevor and I were put in as primary teachers right when we moved in to our new ward.  We were teaching the 4-5 year olds, but in January the Sunbeam teachers asked if we would switch them classes – maybe it had to do something with the upcoming Sunbeam class having 12 kids!  Eek.  Well, you know me – I can never say no and I am always up for a challenge so we made the switch.  Trev and I seriously couldn’t love those kids more.  They definitely test our patience on some days, but they are a hoot!  Trevor works at the hospital every other Sunday so on those days I get the kiddos all to myself.  Some days go better than others as can be expected.  J

Some of the funny thing our Sunbeams have said –

I made sunbeams necklaces for the kids for their first week of primary.  I painted them, put their names on them.  I was pretty proud of myself.  Until…one little girl looks down at her necklace at says “Ha ha this is UGLY!”

We had a lesson about Choosing the Right.  Trevor gave a little girl a scenario that if she was playing with her friend and her brother wanted to come play with them what should she do.  She thought about the question really hard and then responded, “I would lock him in his room until he stopped screaming.” Trevor said, “That wouldn’t be very nice and wouldn’t be choosing the right.” Then the little girl said, “My mom doesn’t choose the right.”

Another little girl must have been having a bad Sunday because she told me all in the same day – “I am not coming to church anymore because I don’t like any of you,” “I am telling on you again,” and  “I am going to rip your ears off.” Oh yes, that was one of the better days when Trev was not there.

In the middle of class one little girl began singing in a very serious and slow voice over and over  – “Who let the dogs out?...Who?....Who?....Who?...Who?”

We do have boys in our class, but for some reason I can’t think of the funny things they have said.

Love those kiddos!

ICU Critical Care Tech!

This is my cute husband.

He has been working as a phlebtomist at IHC for the past 6 months.

As of today is he is the newest critical care tech in the respitory icu! We couldn't be happier! :) You see, after Trev graduates nursing school he will need to work in icu for at least a year before he applies for graduate school for either nurse practioner or nurse anthestist. He will now have two years of extra experience in the icu and a foot in the door for a nursing job when he graduates.

We are so blessed and I am so proud of Trevor for working so hard toward our end goal of graduate school!

Memorial Day Weekend a.k.a an Awesome Weekend!

I kicked off the weekend by going to cheer practice with my cute little cheerleading team. LOVE them! They are the hardest working little cheerleaders in the world with the best attitudes and I love spending practices with them! We got our first floor libs on Friday - the first time they had ever even tried them! (The picture is a little blurry, but you get the picture.)

I went and got a new library card and spent an hour at the library looking for a good book - wow is that place overwhelming!

Trev had to work all Friday night so I made us some snacks for when he got home. Baked scones and made us pomegranate blueberry smoothies. Yum! I got the recipes from my new favorite website - ourbestbites.com. We stayed up late watching H.P. We are determined to watch the first 7 movies before the last one comes out in July! Can't wait!

For the past 6 months we have lived on our townhouse we have had an ugly, white, plastic shelf stuffed in a corner to hold all our food. I am thrilled to say that Saturday my much needed pantry went up!!! We have a few finishing touches to put on it - like a final layer of dry wall and paint - but my food is put away and it looks awesome!

Sunday Trev had to go to work so I drove up to Park City after church and spent the day with my family. We watched movies, played games, ate treats, and had a great lazy Sunday together!

On Monday we got to sleep in! When we finally got ready we went bowling and to lunch with my family. Trev had to leave the festivities early to go to work, but come to find out he didn't have to work Monday after all. I was stoked he got to come home and spend the rest of the day with me! :) My cute little side table got delivered that day and later that night we went to Trev's parents for an (indoor) barbecue.

Such a simple, but great weekend!
